As film begins, Benito Mussolini accompanied by King Victor Emmanuel and an entourage of Italian officials, walks along the platform of a train station, newly constructed for a visit to Rome, by Adolf Hitler and 500 of his party officials. A large honor guard of Italian soldiers stands on the train platform. A train pulls into the station and stops.
