At beginning of the film, a German officer instructor pilot and his Technical sergeant student approach a German ME-262 jet airplane set up on maintenance jacks in a snow covered airfield. A mechanic stands as they approach. The landing gear of the plane are in the process of extending, which the instructor pilot discusses and they are moving. Closeup of the landing gear fully extended. The instructor pilot signals to a mechanic in the cockpit and the landing gear are then retracted. Closeup of the gear retracting into the fuselage of the plane. The mechanics leave the instructor pilot and student who then climb up to the airplane cockpit. The instructor points to two hydraulic valve handles for the landing gear in the cockpit. They then both jump down from the plane and continue talking about its controls as they walk. Suddenly, the officer instructor points to an ME-262 taking off from the field. Closeup of the jet on takeoff roll. It has "V 167" stenciled on its fuselage. Next, an ME-262 jet is seen being towed along a ramp past a line of parked ME-262s. (World War II; WW II; World War 2; World War Two)
A German officer instructor pilot walks with his student, a Technical Sergeant, to the front of a parked ME-262 jet airplane. The airplane's crew chief comes to attention and renders a Nazi salute, which is casually returned by the officer. The crew chief then removes covers from the aircraft's engines and leaves the scene. Next, the student pilot is seen seated in the aircraft cockpit while a communications technician stands on the wing and explains the aircraft's radio equipment to him. The pilot is wearing a helmet and headset. The technician points to a radio console to the right of the pilot, explaining the functions of its various switches. Camera focuses on equipment located on the cockpit floor, between the pilot's legs. Scene shifts to the technician on the wing, who adjusts a throat microphone worn by the pilot, as the film ends. (World War II; WW II; World War 2; World War Two)
Opening scene shows a German Air Force Technical Sergeant student pilot manning a mobile ground control station at an airfield. He is in communication with an ME-262 aircraft, next seen taxiing, from a parking place, onto a ramp for takeoff. The Technical Sergeant at the mobile control looks through binoculars, as the jet plane passes various other aircraft getting into position for takeoff. A woman soldier, near a shack on the field, raises a flag to signal the jet to take off. It applies power and heads down the runway. View from the side of the jet breaking ground on takeoff, and landing gear beginning to retract. View inside cockpit as pilot manipulates engine controls. Glimpse of his feet on rudder pedals. Closeup from side as the jet is airborne with gear retracted. Student controller watching airplane's progress with binoculars. The student's Officer instructor pilot joins him at at the mobile control point and they converse as they watch the ME-262 in flight. (World War II; WW II; World War 2; World War Two)

View of airspeed indicator and glimpse of artificial horizon instrument in the cockpit. Pilot readjusting engine power controls. Closeup of the ME-262 in flight and of the mobile ground control post and then again of the ME-262 maneuvering at high speed in flight. (World War II; WW II; World War 2; World War Two)
Film begins with view from cockpit of an ME-262 jet aircraft, in flight, showing its wing flaps being lowered on left wing. A German Air Force Technical Sergeant is seen looking through binoculars as he communicates with the Jet plane pilot from a mobile ground control post on the airfield. Closeup silhouette of the ME-262 lowering its landing gear, in flight. Another view of the Sergeant at mobile control watch and talking with the pilot. View of pilot in cockpit of the jet plane and of its engine controls. Closeup side view of the Me-262 lowering its nose gear. More views of the Sergeant speaking to the pilot from mobile control and watching through binoculars. Another glimpse of the jet plane in landing configuration. Glimpse of the pilot in the cockpit. View from side of runway as the ME-262 makes a smooth landing back on the airfield. The Technical Sergeant manning the mobile control, and another airmen now with him, close down the communications at the mobile control post and walk away. The pilot of the ME-262 ( a Technical Sergeant) climbs down from the cockpit, where he is greeted by the crew chief, another ground crewman, and his officer instructor pilot. The instructor and student walk away together. The ground crewmen close the cockpit canopy and install covers on the jet engines. They converse briefly and then head away across the airfield into the setting sun. setting sun. (World War II; WW II; World War 2; World War Two)
Block houses for German soldiers on the Eastern front in World War II. Russian war prisoners with axes cut down the trees into logs from snow covered forest areas. Men with hatchets and saws cut logs and smooth them for use in construction. War prisoners construct the block houses while German soldiers instruct and inspect them. Views of constructed block houses covered with snow. German soldiers work, drink, smoke, and relax in the block houses. View of several block houses in snow covered areas.
