Next scene, in the United States, shows disabled and injured veterans of World War 1, and recovering soldier veterans, as they exit railroad hospital trains at a train station, and are met by medical staff of Fort Sheridan, in Lake County, Illinois. Women offer the soldiers donuts from baskets. Veterans get into waiting ambulances. Civil war cannon in a snowy field, and view of Fort Sheridan grounds, including the Fort Sheridan water tower and barracks complex.
