Soviet Russian Polikarpov I-16 (type5) fighter airplanes parked on a flight line. Engines are started and running on several of them. Next, the 12in triple gun turret of the Soviet Gangut class battleship, Parizhskaya Kommuna dominates a front view of the ship. This Dreadnought battleship (formerly the Sevastopol) was updated in 1928 and deployed in the Black Sea Fleet. Next, a huge open field is seen, filled with Soviet T-26 tanks raising dust as they move in formation. Scene shifts to an industrial steel plant, where a Soviet steel worker looks into a blast furnace peep hole to assess the state of the process. He phones others to tell them it is ready to be tapped. View of steel workers, in protective clothing, pulling the furnace plug. Molten steel flows from the furnace through open channels in the floor. Initially, slag floats atop the molten steel.
