He is questioned about his associations with the Communist Party and the Soviet Union. The witness spells his full name for the Committee, and states that he was born July 5, 1898, in Leipsig, Germany. He states his occupation, as composer and that he studied in Vienna and was a student of Arnold Schonberg. In response to questions, he recalls visiting the Soviet Union several times in the early 1930s, for film making and musical publishing. He denies ever receiving any monies from the Soviet Government.

He states that if they strive together and make most of the challenges and opportunities, they can ensure great days and moments in the world's history. He mentions that only 1,361 days of his term are remaining and he wants these to be the best days the United States' history. He believes that America is the hope of the world and it gives hopes to millions of people in world that they can live their lives in peace and freedom. He asks the citizens for their prayers to help him in meeting their expectations during his days of presidency. The White House.
