Mrs. Madeleine Edison Sloane, second daughter of renowned American inventor, Thomas Alva Edison, christens the Polaris Submarine, USS Thomas Alva Edison (SSBN-610), at the yard of Electric Boat Division, General Dynamics Corporation, in Groton, Connecticut.
