Celebrations in Havana, Cuba as Cuban rebels led by Fidel Castro take over the city. Citizens marching in the streets carrying 26th of July banners (date in 1953 the coup began). Jubilant throngs of people. Newspaper man selling papers with large headline "Se Fue Batista" indicating that Batista has fled the country. Crowds smashing gambling machines in the streets. Hoards of students streaming from the University of Havana joining the celebrations. U.S. tourists leaving a hotel with packed luggage and taking refuge at the U.S. Embassy (being taken there in U.S. Military cars), and then leaving Havana on airplanes to return to the USA. Rebel fighters with beards entering the city. Views of Fidel Castro, a number of his lieutenants, and rebel fighters somewhere in the mountains. The Cuban flag flying.
Snow covered mountainous area. People with skis walk beside a stationary tram designed to transport skiers on the mountain. Trees in the background. Snow is falling.
British troops aid Federation of Malaya civilians in building a town. Huts under construction. A native man digging with a hoe. Women carrying supplies and children in baskets. The village being completed. Views of workers in the fields, feeding livestock including chickens and pigs. Sign over a store reads, "Layang Resettlement Cooperative Trading Co." Interior of the store as the shop keeper issues food to a woman beside a set of scales. Another building labeled "Dispensary" and inside where a doctor examines a child's leg as the child is held by a native woman. Children being instructed in a classroom. A man standing on a porch addressing a crowd of gathered civilian men. All the men raise their hands in response to a question. Armed Malayan men patrolling a perimeter fence against rebels from the Malayan Communist Party.
