United States ship Langley underway in the Pacific Ocean. U.S. Vought VE-7 aircraft piloted by Lieutenant Commander V.C. Griffin comes in for landing aboard the Langley on January 29th, 1922. Aircraft lands and taxis along the flight deck.

United States Navy pilot attempts landing on the aircraft carrier Langley (CV-1) off the coast of California, United States. An Aeromarine 39B, piloted by Lieutenant Commander G.C. Chevalier comes in for landing aboard the United States aircraft carrier Langley in October, 1922. He makes a go-around on the first pass. On the second approach, he lands but the arresting gear slowly retracts, pulling his airplane backwards, and causing it to nose over. Sailors rush towards the aircraft. Sequence showing a 1922 Ford Model T automobile being driven successfully in difficult terrain. The car approaches and crosses a slightly elevated railroad crossing at high speed. It is then seen negotiating various barriers and impediments, including driving down steep sandy embankments over a severely rutted dirt road. At the end of the arduous course, the car's license plate is seen bent and tilted, but no damage is evident to the car itself.

The expedition has stopped at Ascension Island en route to Antarctica. On 4th August, the expedition's naturalist George Hubert Wilkins, together with Major C. A. Tennyson (Commandant of the Ascension Island Garrison), explores a colony of sooty terns (also known as Wideawakes).
