Arnold L Raphel states that the Soviet Union shall consider the situation in Afghanistan as there is pressure from the United States and other international organizations to withdraw from Afghanistan.

Guest U.S. Senator Jim Sasser from Tennessee and Arnold L Raphel, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for the Bureau of Near Eastern and South Asian Affairs. They discuss the insurgency among religious groups in Afghanistan. Senator Jim Sasser states that the Congress of the United States is of the opinion to provide more aid and weapons to the Afghan fighters and funds going to them will not violate the United States law. Correspondent and host Harry Ellis thanks the guests and other reporters at the end of the Interview.

The film 'Sea power in the Pacific' showing Japanese dominance in China and at start of World War 2. Then it chronicles U.S. efforts to build Navy and fight back on sea and in the air. Opening scene shows Japanese Mitsubishi G3M (Type 96) bombers high overhead, and then closeup in formation. View from bomber of bomb bays open with bombs falling and view from ground of explosions and destruction. Overlay on film says: "China---1931." (This is not correct. The G3M bomber was not yet in service.) This film depicts Japanese attacks during second Sino-Japanese War, commencing 1937, Chinese civilians running to escape Japanese bombing of Singapore. Buildings destroyed and on fire. Next, Japanese troops, carrying the Rising Sun flag, are seen establishing a beachhead in an Amphibious assault. More scenes of Japanese infantry advancing through Singapore, ad it is being destroyed and burned. Soldiers charging along an alleyway, with pagoda in background. Next, Japanese soldiers are seen attacking Nanking, and committing atrocities during the so-called "Rape of Nanking," in December, 1937. Japanese and Turkish military missions tour Eastern Front at German invitation, in World War II
Opening scene shows German Field Marshal Wilhelm Keitel gesturing as he hosts members of a Japanese military mission and a Turkish military delegation (headed by Colonel General Cemil Cahit Toydemir). At Adolf Hitler's invitation, they are on a tour of the Eastern front and English channel coasts between June 25th and July 7th, 1943, during World War 2. Here, they are seen inspecting German positions and witnessing firepower demonstration on the Russian Front near Kharkov (also Kharkiv) just south of Kursk. They observe a German artillery gun crew as they demonstrate rapid firing of their field piece. Shells explode raising black smoke. Closeup of a senior Japanese military official. Turkish and Japanese visiters board two small open train cars driven by German soldiers on motorcycles adapted for the purpose. Following a pause, the scene shifts to the visiting officers inspecting German armor, including a small armored personnel carrier; a Tiger Tank of Pz.Abt.503; and other armored vehicles. They watch a Tiger tank moving along a muddy berm rotating its turret and 88mm gun as it moves. Another tank races past the camera at high speed, raising clouds of dust. A German gun crew, in a trench, fires an MG 42 heavy machine gun. They look up and camera focuses on formations of German JU 87 Stuka dive bombers flying overhead. Visiting officer peers through a periscopic viewing device, as Large explosion occurs in the field. German, Japanese, and Turkish officers converse as a huge plume of smoke rises in the background, capturing their attention.
