A car drives up to the Lincoln Building, in Detroit, Michigan, Mr. and Mrs. Edsel Ford step from the car and walk toward the entrance.They are met by Henry Leland, and Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Leland, who come out to greet them. A chauffeured car arrives carrying Henry and Mrs. Ford, who walk from their car to the entrance where they are greeted by the Lelands. The group poses on the building step, from left to right: Henry Leland, Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Leland, Mr. and Mrs. Edsel Ford, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Ford. Henry Leland does an impromptu dance which Henry Ford briefly imitates. The group enters the building. Inside the building, company founders, Henry Leland, and Henry Ford, respectively, stand as Edsel Ford (President of Ford Motor Company) signs a document as a lawyer witness sits nearby. Henry Leland (President of Lincoln Motor Company) signs the document while a different witness lawyer sits nearby. The lawyers step in momentarily, and Henry Leland is again seen signing a document. He steps away, and a lawyer sits down and signs as witness.

Mine workers climb onto a railroad car and move towards the mines in mountains. Several men on small railroad cars carry lunch boxes along with them.

Then a large scoop is dragged across the path of the machine and scoops the gathered coal into Tipple cars. The cars move on the railroad tracks and exit the mine, headed toward the valley. Coal loaded tipple cars move out from a mine, stop for weighing at a weigh station on the tracks, and then move into the tipple, where the coal is separated into 3 different sizes of coal. Each size is dumped into Ford gondolas, and then moved by train toward a Ford plant in Toledo, Ohio. Men standing near the conveyor belt empty and dump the coal loads on the conveyor belt.

Views of workers standing near the coke cars,coke being discharged and dumped into a large hopper. Then views of coke cars being pushed into position by an operator in a rail car, and being loaded with coke. Next the coke ovens are charged and smoke rises from the ovens. The cars are then pushed into a tunnel for quenching and a large amount of steam is emitted. Finally the car coke contents is tipped into a large trough with separation screens.
