Chinese 38th Infantry Division troops advance to Bhamo, Burma (WW2)

Nationalist Chinese troops of the 38th Infantry Division are seen moving through Jungles with pack animals carrying supplies as they advance toward key city of Bhamo (Banmaw), Burma, during World War 2. A map shows the area, highlighting cities of Rangoon (Yangon), Mandalay, and Bhamo. Using small assault boats, the Chinese troops cross a river near outskirts of Bhamo. Civil Defense teams prepare for possible gas attack in Paris (WW2)

The basement of the Third Arrondissement Town Hall (2 Rue Eugène Spuller, 75003 Paris, France) in Paris, location of the Civil Defense Center during World War II. A team of Civil Defense workers practice their plans for dealing with possible gas attack. Team members, wearing gas masks, gas proof hoods, suits, boots and gloves, enter and exit the shelter with stretchers. Doctors who are part of the response team go through the motions of treating persons posing as victims. Next, Soviet Lieutenant General Vasily Chuikov, advisor to Chinese Generalissimo Chiang Kai-Shek, steps from a building, smoking a cigarette. He is accompanied by a Chinese officer. Immediately, they are joined by another Soviet General (also smoking a cigarette). The three converse, while standing next to staff cars. Several Chinese officers bid Chuikov farewell and he gets ready to enter a car in the foreground. Scene shifts to a city square where animal-drawn carts pass by a building with a Red Star on the roof and Russian writing across its top that reads: : "ОСВОБОПИТЕПЬНЦЕ" (Liberator).
