Four F6F aircraft in pairs, fly over the Aircraft Carrier, USS Hancock (CV-19) with their landing gears down, preparing to recover on the carrier. Scene shifts abruptly to a spash off to starboard, where an SB2C Helldiver has ditched, or crashed, in the water. The aircraft submerged almost completely with only parts of it seen above the water surface. It sinks rpidly out of sight.

The Registration Day at the United States Military Academy at West Point. Colin Kelly III, son of America's First Combat Hero during World War 2 enters the United States Military Academy (Colin Kelly Jr who was shot down in his B-17 three days following Pearl Harbor, after bombing the Japanese Cruiser Natori. He remained at the helm long enough to permit his crew to bail out. His own parachute did not open after his bail out). On the Registration Day officers inspect the new cadets. Colin gets the regulation hair cut. A tailor takes measurements. Officers inspect as the new cadets march past.

They speak with Berber tribesmen and present them copies of an official document. Then they search the fortifcations. In one room there are several Berber women, sitting on the floor.(The women have notable tattoos on their faces.) A dog is seen accompanying the Legionnaires. Large numbers of Berber women and children come out of their quarters and assemble, sitting down on the ground in front of the men. A Legion officer speaks to a village leader and the villagers. The Legionnaires then depart and return down the mountain. A French officer is seen standing up in a jeep, as it drives along a sandy road.
