Company B of the U.S. Army 503rd Parachute Infantry Regiment performs training exercises in the backcountry of Alta, Utah, skiing with full packs and rifles. The soldiers wear white uniforms for snow camouflage and travel as a large unit, disguising their numbers by traveling over the snow in single file. Scouts perform mock reconnaissance. The soldiers trample snow for camping at elevation, cook rations on gasoline burners, and dig fox holes in the snow for protection and camouflage. The men use warm sleeping bags for sleep, rifles at their sides. Shot during World War 2.
