Boy and girl students learn various skills in the United States. A 1920's film clip imagines a future where women may be out of the home and men stay home to cook. Slate reads, "When the future wife leaves for the afternoon, she will say to hubby, Now, John, you have dinner all ready by the time I get home." Boys are seen at a domestic cooking class. The boys are wearing chef hats. A boy makes a pie crust and puts it in a pan. The boy fills the crust with apples, adds a top crust, and trims and crimps the crust expertly. Boys are shown eating the apple pies they have made. Girls work at a machine that automatically forms pie crusts. They feed flattened squares of pie crust into the pie crust making machine. A different group of girls in a cooking class prepare a pudding. A family at a dinner table eat the pudding.

Life under Soviet domination in Eastern Europe following World War II

New scene shows Gustav Husak, acting Prime Minister, delivering an address urging support for the Communist Party. The next sequence shows violent Communist-led demonstrations, as armed trade unionists riot in the Prague streets, attacking the offices of the political opposition. Police attempt to restore order. On February 25, 1948, the communists achieve a Czechoslovak coup d'état. On February 27th, Czech President, Edvard Benes, receives a delegation including communist Premier Klement Gottwald and the 12 new members of the cabinet, at the Presidential Palace. He is seen signing documents accepting the communist cabinet. Change of scene shows Czech Foreign Minister, Jan Masaryk, giving a speech rejecting the change. Both women have "bob" short hair styles that are a considerable departure from styles of a decade earlier. They sit in the shop and read a newspaper, as they wait for the barber to finish giving a man a haircut. A woman goes to the empty barber chair as she explains, to the barber, how she wants her hair trimmed. The barber begins to cut her hair.

These are clips from major league baseball games in the mid 1920s. President Calvin Coolidge throws out ceremonial first pitch before a Washington Senators baseball game under the watchful eye of team manager Bucky Harris. (Game is either a Senators home opener or a World Series game.) Views of crowd of fans, mostly men all wearing hats, but some women also, cheering in the stadium. In a different game, likely in New York, Babe Ruth hits a home run and tips his cap to a wildly cheering crowd.
