Alex Henshaw flies back to England after record-breaking flight to Capetown, South Africa

Opening scene shows the Percival Mew Gull aircraft E2H, G-AEXF, accompanied by several persons walking beside while taxiing across the field at Gravesend Airport, Kent, England. It has just landed, on a return flight from Wingfield Aerodrome, at Cape Town, South Africa. The exhausted pilot, Alex Henshaw, is seen starting to climb from the cockpit of his airplane. Surrounded by a large crowd pressed close around the airplane, Henshaw is lifted bodily from the cockpit and carried upon the shoulders of well wishers. The next scene is a closeup of Henshaw, with face blackened by oil, drinking from a cup, while surrounded by a group of men. Glimpse from behind Gravesend's Mayor, wearing Chain of office, as he greets Henshaw, who is next seen being carried, again, on shoulders of greeters, accompanied by several policemen. (Note: Alex Henshaw set a record in 1939, taking off on 5 February 1939 from Gravesend Airport, landing at Wingfield Aerodrome at the Cape on the 6th. He flew 6,377 miles in 39 hours and 25 minutes, averaging 209.44 mph. This film shows the completion of his return flight retracing the same route and distance, which took 11 minutes longer.)

One of the sailors raises and folds his arms and keeps his feet slightly apart. He puts his hand on the shoulder of the other sailor. He shows the edge of his palm and puts it just below the jawbone on the neck of the other sailor. He brings the edge of the palm near the mouth and the bridge of the nose of the other sailor. The other sailor bends. The first sailor brings the edge of his palm on the back of the neck of second sailor. The sailor shows how to attack the stomach, the neck and the eyes with the jab of the hand. He shows how to attack the groin with the edge of the palm. He uses his foot to step on the other sailor's foot and to hit the shin or the groin. He then shows how to attack with the knee. Basic Hand holds and Leverages. The sailor grabs the wrist of another sailor with both his hands and twists and bends the arms. The other sailor doubles over. The first sailor grabs his neck and bends him backward, lifts his leg and drops him on the ground. Breaking grips hand holds. A U.S. Navy Training program teaches the sailors defense against different thrusts of the knife.

Sailors learn methods of attack and counterattack of hand to hand combat during a training program of the navy in the United States. Two sailors demonstrate defense against knife downward thrust. One of the sailors approaches the other with a knife. The sailor grasps his wrist with one hand, locks the assailant's arm by passing his other arm under and across the assailant's arm, bends his arm and throws him on the ground. The knife falls down. Defense against knife upward thrust. As the assailant approaches the sailor with a knife, he grips the wrist of the assailant with both his hands, forces his hand back, delivers a knee lift in the groin, bends the wrist and causes the knife to fall down. Next they demonstrate defense against side thrust with knife. As the assailant approaches with a knife, the sailor grips his wrist and secures his arm under the shoulder and bends causing the assailant and the knife to drop. He picks it up. Club is used for defense against knife. As the assailant attacks with a knife, the sailor uses a club to break the attack and jabs the assailant in the stomach with the club. (World War II period).
