On 8 December, 1944, U.S. soldiers test a new type rocket launcher at Viareggio, Italy, during World War II
U.S. soldiers insert charges into rockets and then load them into a multi-barrel rocket launcher mounted on a 37mm gun carriage, set up on the shore at Viareggio, Italy in World War 2. They load the 4.5 mm rockets into the firing tubes. Next the rockets are seen being fired by a soldier from a remote position. (Ordnance and Artillery Sections of the U.S. 5th Army developed this rocket launcher.)

Throughout the film, flood waters from heavy rains are seen inundating the normally dry Idice river bed in the vicinity of Borgo di Bisano, 17miles from Bologna, Italy, where U.S. troops of the 92nd Infantry Division (Buffalo Soldiers) were encamped, in World War 2. Army vehicles are moving cautiously through the flood waters as troops work to rescue supplies and equipment. Camera pans over the wide area covered by the fast moving waters.

On 12 December, 1944, at an airport in Naples, Italy, British General Sir Henry Nathan Wilson inspects an honor guard of American Military Policemen in formation. (Narrator states he is en route to replace the late Field Marshal Sir John Dill, in Washington, DC, USA) A contingent of British troops is also present as part of the honor guard, on the wet airport tarmac. (Narrator states that Wilson will head the British Joint Staff Mission and be personal military representative for Prime Minister Winston Churchill.) He approaches a line of U.S. military officers who salute him. Closeup of General Wilson With U.S. Army Air Forces Lieutenant General Ira C. Eaker, next to U.S. Vice Admiral Kent Hewitt. Germany institutes measures to increase war efforts on the home front during World War II
Captured German propaganda film designed to encourage the German population near the end of World War 2. The closed Theater des Volkes (Theater of the people) in Berlin is seen at it's start. Steel gates are being pulled across the entrance of the Deutsches Opernhaus (German Opera House). Steel gates are drawn across the entrance to the Schiller Theater on Bismarckstrasse in Berlin. A sign announcing the open hours at a play house, is covered by a cardboard. Likewise a sign at an opera theater is covered. (Narrator states that Joseph Goebbels, Nazi Reich Minister of Propaganda, has been given the title: "Reich Plenipotentiary for Total War.") City trams are diverted to carry war supplies. View of men loading boxes into one. A tram pulling rail cars loaded with freight. An automobile being towed by a tram. Morale boosting slogans posted in various places. (one reads "Relentlessly determined to win victory." Another reads "With the Leader (Fuhrer) to Victory." Joseph Goebbels, addressing a rally of armaments workers in the Rhineland District, tells them (according to the Narrator) "Before we admit the enemy to German soil, and submit ourselves to his will, we will first work our hands bloody and work to our last breath." The assembled workers applaud enthusiastically. Men and women over 65 years of age are mobilized to help with the war effort and seen engaged in light manufacturing. German miners coming off shift volunteer to dig trenches and prepare earthworks. The receive tools and march to a work site. Views of men digging defenses in East Prussia where it became urgent as the Soviet army drew near in October, 1944. In another similar scene, many women are seen working alongside men building defenses. A group of Nazi officers pose for pictures ostensibly working to also dig fortifications. A huge civilian work force is seen digging deep and wide ditches to stop or delay invaders.
Allied Forces marshal to defend against German offensive in Battle of the Bulge during World war II
American troops being marshalled to confront German forces pressing in a salient during the Battle of the Bulge in World War 2. They load their gear into vehicles and head toward the front. Next, one of the captured German parachutists stands on the hood of a jeep displaying the newest type of boot worn by them. An American soldier discovers one of the parachute packing cases. Near it he picks up a white snow cape worn by German soldiers at the snow-covered front.

U.S. soldiers of an Intelligence and Reconnaissance platoon, from the 423rd Infantry Regiment, are seen after infiltrating 18 miles through enemy lines to reach American forces at St. Vith. They are being debriefed by another soldier. American anti-aircraft guns fire at attacking Luftwaffe aircraft all along the front. American soldiers watch the aerial activity. A U.S. soldier lying on the ground, after being struck by a 90mm unexploded anti-aircraft shell that fell back to earth and killed him. (He was a member of Service Company, 83rd Infantry Division.) Sky literally filled with contrails from Allied and German aircraft engaged in dogfights overhead.
