One of the sailors raises and folds his arms and keeps his feet slightly apart. He puts his hand on the shoulder of the other sailor. He shows the edge of his palm and puts it just below the jawbone on the neck of the other sailor. He brings the edge of the palm near the mouth and the bridge of the nose of the other sailor. The other sailor bends. The first sailor brings the edge of his palm on the back of the neck of second sailor. The sailor shows how to attack the stomach, the neck and the eyes with the jab of the hand. He shows how to attack the groin with the edge of the palm. He uses his foot to step on the other sailor's foot and to hit the shin or the groin. He then shows how to attack with the knee. Basic Hand holds and Leverages. The sailor grabs the wrist of another sailor with both his hands and twists and bends the arms. The other sailor doubles over. The first sailor grabs his neck and bends him backward, lifts his leg and drops him on the ground. Breaking grips hand holds. One of the sailors grips the wrist of another sailor who twists and frees himself. (World War II period).

A U.S. Navy Training demonstrates the methods of chancery against low frontal attack, arm drag and the leg pick as part of training in hand to hand combat, United States. Two sailors show chancery against low frontal attack. One of the sailors attacks the other from front. The other sailor puts one of his arms beneath the shoulder of the attacker, passes his other arm beneath the attacker's neck to lock it and delivers a kick to the opponent. Next they demonstrate the Arm drag. The second sailor uses one of his arms to hold the wrist and secures the elbow of the opponent with his other arm. He stamps on the foot of the attacker and drags at his arms which cause both to fall. Now they demonstrate Leg pick up. The second sailor grasps both the legs of the attacker just above his knees, raises him, holds him and drops him on the floor. (World War II period).
